Booty Bass

Booty Bass was born for women to come together and play big, bad, unapologetic bangers from around the globe. Since 2018 it’s become a space that celebrates different cultures from across the world, mixed with much loved UK sounds. Afrobeats, Latin, Bashment, UK Funky, 90s, Tribal & Bass.

Booty Bass are collective of female DJ’s playing bass music that runs through your body, down to your booty, making it pump from the minute you walk in till the minute you twerk out. Serving Afrobeat, World, Bass, Latin, 90’s, and UK Funky, It’s what we love!

What we’re about:
In an industry with predominantly men on the decks and in the crowd, we are here to shake things up! Booty Bass was formed to platform and showcase female DJ’s. We want to celebrate womxn and non binary folk behind the decks and pon di floor. Empowering womxn, embracing different cultures, creating an environment with good vibes and a safe space for EVERYONE.

Ngaio

Our multi tasking whirlwind of a founder, Ngaio started DJing in 2016 as a place to play out the more excitable inspired aspects of her musical identity. Booty Bass was created as a way to connect with fellow female DJ’s and quickly evolved into a regular night. Securing residencies at The Plough, Faraway Cocktail Club and Brisco, what started as a chance to experiment with much loved genres, quickly blossomed into a new love.

As is reflected in everything she does, Ngaio blends cultures and genres into sets that represent her musical history through travels around Europe, Africa and South America with a healthy dose of nostalgia tracks mixed in for good measure. It’s rare to predict what she’ll draw for in a set, but you know it’ll make you sweat ?
