Bristol to Brixton – End of Summer link up
Across the world a great number of the best places you can go for music start with the letter ‘B’ – Berlin, Brighton, Brooklyn, the list goes on. There’s 2 particular B’s that share a common love of all things bass – Bristol and Brixton. This is the Bristol to Brixton link up.
BASS CHOIR IN BRIXTON!!!
London crew, we’re coming at you for the first time so you better be there cause
when we say ‘Bass’ we mean club music, energy! From Drum & Bass to Breakbeat and UK Garage, Bass Choir is set to break all forms of the traditional choir. A musical ensemble of peace, love and unity – focused on experimentation and a refusal to accept genre boundaries, Bass Choir is representative of Bristol’s active and diverse underground urban music scene.
“…a really good fusion of a classic idea of a choir and the very modern electronic sound bringing together a beautiful coalition”
“…it really impressed me, I thought it was brilliant, really really clever”
The World Famous Soca Jungle Sound Clash
Island Sound vs Urban Sound
Two of the most energetic styles of dance music go head to head, round for round in a sound clash style. Friendly rivalry has built up between two selectors from Bristol where each DJ is the ambassador for their chosen style.
Representing Soca music we have Tim Rayner aka Dub Boy – local champion of Soca and Dancehall and promoter of infamous Soca club night Ruffnek Diskotek, whilst representing Jungle we have Adam Crawford of ASBO Disco / Boom Sound heritage whose close links to both the old and the new school of the Jungle scene make him a worthy ambassador.
Who runs the dance? You decide.
A trailblaze of positive Caribbean expression, creativity & attitude.
A style-savvy music producer and DJ, Blasé Vanguard’s most celebrated sound features Caribbean soca and dancehall, as well as uptempo kuduro and contemporary afrobeats. The resident ‘saga boy’ has an equally skillful navigation of London’s grime and UK funky, along with American hip hop and trap music. By immersing himself in these multiple influences, he creates an eclectic and inimitable musical experience, moving crowds from Port of Spain’s Big Black Box and Euphoria Lounge all the way to London’s Camden Assembly & Rum Kitchen, Berlin’s Chaussestrasse 131 & Barcelona’s Razzmatazz.
You can now hear Blasé Vanguard on his Friday fortnightly 2 hour turn-up on Reprezent radio, from 3pm-5pm BST.
