Bristol club collective and record label Club Djembe make their Manchester debut at Soup Kitchen with 6 Figure Gang legend Jossy Mitsu (Rinse FM), Club Djembe residents DJ POLO and Ngaio, and local talent Nat Fanuel.
Since 2017, Club Djembe has been at the forefront of the Bristol party scene and making a name for themselves through top-quality bookings and high energy parties; showcasing the best in global club sounds; from Afrobeat to UK Funky, Baile Funk to ‘UK Gqom’ and beyond.
Born and raised in Birmingham, Jossy Mitsu became an avid music collector at the age of 15 and later taught herself to DJ on turntables. She’s known for her ability to shell down any club, whether that’s rinsing out a twisted concoction of sweaty House, Techno and left field club heaters, firing heavy-weight Rave and Jungle sets, or serenading you with her 2-step vinyl collection.
Now based in London, Jossy holds down a Rinse residency and is part of the ‘6 Figure Gang’. The past year has seen her perform at Glastonbury Festival (official), Eastern Electrics + many more, alongside the likes of Groove Chronicles, DJ EZ, & Teki Latex
Influenced heavily by early UK Funky, DJ Polo inspired by genres from around the world such as Afrobeat, Gqom, Baile Funk & Kuduro. Both artists have released on the Roska Kicks & Snares imprint and the tracks have tore up clubs worldwide, since then the artists have released music on prominent UK club labels such as Super Kitchen and More Time.
2019 saw DJ Polo start his residency on Rinse FM, alongside remixing a track for Branko, released on ENCHUFADA. Expect a body-moving and percussive heavy set from the Club Djembe resident.
Ngaio’s versatility as an artist has seen her moving audiences via her high energy and eclectic selections as a DJ but also as a vocalist. Bringing jazz influenced vocals into the UK Funky world has seen her released on Bristol label Durkle Disco with a Cardinal Sound remix that reached clubs from Europe to Australia.
Previously seen at festivals such as Glastonbury, Boomtown, Secret Garden Party, Love Saves The Day, Tokyo World and guesting on Rinse FM, Flex FM, Noods Radio and soon to be station regular at SWU FM, 2019 isn’t likely to see her slowing down any time soon.
Manchester based scene hero and UK Garage/Funky House producer Nat Fanuel joins the Club Djembe Manchester Debut. The founder of HoneyPot: MCR, Club Soda and Manchester Underground has released via the Articulate Sound imprint cites a wide range of musical influences from Murder He Wrote to Timbaland.
